  Face Lift (Rhytidectomy)

This is an operation which aims to rejuvenate the face and neck which have aged due to the effects of gravity, sun exposure, and the rigours of life. The way our face looks can affect how we feel about ourselves and the way others judge us. Any procedure which refreshes and rejuvenates the face can take years off our appearance and improve self-esteem.

The signs of visible ageing in the face and neck are manifested as deep creases, sagging of the skin and deeper tissues, and excess deposits of fat in unwanted areas.

There are many different techniques to achieve a lift of the face and neck. The best technique for you will be partly dependent on your age, the extent of visible aging of your face, and your desires.

  Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Eyelid surgery is done to reverse the early signs of aging which are often manifested as drooping of the upper lids and bags under the eyes. These changes can make you look tired and worn even when the rest of your face appears relatively youthful.

Blepharoplasty removes excess skin and muscle, tightens supporting tissues in the eyelids, and removes or re-distributes fat bulges. It may be done in conjunction with other facial rejuvenating procedures.

  Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty)

The nose is the part of the face that often worries people the most. You may feel that your nose does not match the rest of your face. There is no such thing as the perfect nose but rhinoplasty can help to bring the nose into balance with the face for a more pleasing appearance.

Rhinoplasty may be able to change the size of your nose, the shape of the bridge or the tip, the width of the nostrils, and alter the angle between the nose and the upper lip. It can also improve abnormalities resulting from injury or birth defects.

For some patients, a rhinoplasty may be indicated to improve breathing problems.

  Brow Lift/Foreheadplasty

With the passage of time and the effects of gravity, the upper face or brow and forehead regions can contribute to a tired and worn appearance. Descent of these tissues can lead to an appearance of fullness in the upper eyelids even when the eyelids themselves are otherwise fine. Though the use of anti-wrinkle injections has greatly assisted the treatment of frown lines in the forehead and between the eyebrows over the bridge of the nose, some people will require a surgical procedure to achieve the refreshed appearance they desire.

There are a number of methods for lifting the eyebrows to a more pleasing level including the use of endoscopic, or key-hole, surgery.

  Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)

Otoplasty is an operation done to improve the appearance of prominent ears by setting them back so they lie closer to the head. Children with prominent ears can be teased mercilessly in the schoolground and this operation is often done after the age of 4 years just before starting school.

Adults with prominent ears have often put up with ridicule throughout their childhood and will often say after the operation that they wish they had done it earlier.

There are a number of different methods for improving prominent ears but all involve some sort of alteration of the cartilage framework.

Cheek Reduction Surgery (Buccal Fat Pad Removal)

This operation is done to correct the appearance of ‘chipmunk’ cheeks due to a prominent fat pad in the lower part of the cheek. It can give a more chiseled look to the face and secondarily give the pleasing appearance of more prominent cheek-bones.

If the procedure is done in isolation the incisions are made from inside the mouth so that there will be no visible scar.

  Anti-Wrinkle Injections

This simple, safe, and quick procedure does not require a trip to the operating theatre as it is done in Dr Norris’ rooms. The injections induce a relaxation of the muscles that contribute to frown lines between the eyebrows, worry lines across the forehead, and crows feet around the eyes.

The results are noticeable over 2-3 days and last 3-6 months.

Fat Transfer to the Lips and Nasolabial Folds

This procedure, done in an operating theatre, involves the transfer of small amounts of your own fat into the lips to make them appear more voluminous, or into the nasolabial folds to smooth out these deep lines. The results can give a more youthful and attractive appearance to these areas without the use of foreign materials and with more permanence.
